About Us

Shenwei Hu

Shen is an incoming second year student majoring in Biology and Psychology at University of Toronto Scarborough. Art has always been an integral component of her identity, but it was five years ago, when she had just recently arrived in Canada, that she truly began to work on her craft. Drawing and painting helped her overcome the difficulties of being a foreigner in a strange land, much like how she is using it now to navigate the predicaments of these strange times.

Shen's work is focused primarily on portraiture and landscapes using watercolor, gouache, acrylic, and graphite. In her free time, you may catch her studying flashcards on her phone, humming a Taylor Swift song, or insisting that boiling water counts as cooking.

Thea Vu-Nguyen

Also entering second year is Thea, a UTSC student part of the Specialist Co-operative Program in Business Management.  Ever since her uncle placed a pencil in her hand, art became a creative escape from reality that transformed into a passion.  With the undying desire to improve, she graduated from the Regional Arts Program for Visual Arts at St. Elizabeth Catholic High School where she developed unforgettable experiences and friendships that flourished her love for art.

Thea works to discover her own artistic style, which ranges from realism to impressionism and the drawing style that started it all: anime and manga (she apologizes for being a slight weeb).  Most often you will find her jamming to RnB, sipping her cup of tea, or practicing the only three songs she knows on the piano.
